Maxima, and Suez, are seeking a motivated individual to undertake a Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship working in the maintenance team within the water/wastewater treatment plant.
You will assist to ensure the efficient and compliant maintenance and operation of the plant. Ensuring maintenance and operations work are safe and environmentally sound and ensuring the safety of plant personnel, subcontractors, and visitors.
Across 48 months you will work full time, gain paid, practical experience and study a nationally recognised Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade. You will also receive continuous mentoring from a dedicated Maxima Consultant.
Duties Include:
- Perform maintenance, service, and repairs
- Assemble and fit fabricated products
- Diagnostics of faults and troubleshooting
- Welding and mechanical tasks
- Use of specialised equipment and tools
- General plant duties
- Passionate about the engineering industry
- Hands-on learner
- Reliable and punctual work ethic
- Eye for detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Thrives working in team environments
- Love learning new systems and procedures
- Current drivers’ licence with own vehicle
- Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment assessment, including a drug and alcohol test
- Possess good physical fitness to perform manual tasks
- Previous experience or pre-vocational certificate (desirable)
