Job responsibilities:
- Ensure that mechanical systems and equipment designs are in accordance with safety regulations, industry standards and best practices.
- Lead and participate in technical investigations, root cause analyses for equipment failures and incidents involving the Mechanical Engineering discipline.
- Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and relevant calculations.
- Managing projects, subcontractors, clients and schedules to meet deadlines.
- Mentoring and training of Junior Engineers and technical staff.
- Check drawings and calculations of designs generated by colleagues for accuracy and practicality.
- Undertake technical reviews, investigations and inspections where required.
- Site travel to gather information of installed equipment to allow for engineering upgrades to be performed to accommodate change of operation.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis for proposed designs.
Requirements
- A positive can-do attitude combined with high creativity and passion for exploring the boundaries of engineering technology
- Relevant tertiary degree i.e., Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical
- Registration as RPEQ/Chartered or ability to register as RPEQ/Chartered
- 5+ years’ engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in CAD software (Inventor, AutoCAD) and other engineering tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and fabrication techniques.
- Strong communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills.
