Job Description:
We are looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with 5-8 years of experience to join our client's engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design within the mining sector, demonstrating a deep understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of this field. This role involves the development, design, and optimization of mechanical systems and equipment used in mining operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical systems and equipment specifically for mining applications.
- Perform detailed engineering analysis and calculations to ensure designs meet industry standards and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical designs with other engineering disciplines.
- Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis for proposed designs.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting during the installation, commissioning, and operation of mining equipment.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in mining technology and Mechanical Engineering practices.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in mechanical design, with a significant focus on the mining industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Strong knowledge of mining operations and mechanical systems used in the mining industry.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical information clearly.
- Experience with project management and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to mining and Mechanical Engineering.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
- Knowledge of sustainable and environmentally friendly engineering practices in mining.
