Mechanical Engineer / Draftsman

Mechanical Engineer, Draftsman, Mechanical Design Engineer Support.

Based in North Geelong, Ultimate Plant Trailers are seeking support for our lead Mechanical Design Engineer. 

• Designing and modelling trailers, creating detailed drawings adhering to industry standards and specifications.
• Performing mechanical/structural CAD design, drafting, and delivering design and assembly drawings.
• Designing and drafting equipment based on customer requirements and relevant standards.
• Work collaboratively with the responsible design engineer to ensure that all the technical aspects of builds are met.
• Maintaining a comprehensive understanding and ensuring compliance with Australian Design Rules and Standards.

About you:

• Innovative thinking: Creative solutions, modern processes, new ideas.
• Experience adhering to and maintaining modelling and engineering design standards, Understanding the Australian Design rules relating to TD vehicles would be an advantage.
• Advanced Autodesk Inventor skills.
• High proficiency in CAD 3D modelling and engineering drawing creation.
• Drafting for manufacture experience, including BoM compilation and management.
• At a minimum, an intermediate level of experience managing large modelling assemblies (ideally in heavy steel fabrication environment).
