The Product Lifecycle Engineering team is the core Engineering team responsible for maintaining ResMed's existing product devices in the market, including our life support Ventilator. The team is made up of multi-disciplinary engineers, including Electronics, Systems, Projects and Mechanical, so there’s always someone knowledgeable to approach. We’re agile, collaborative, engaged and empowered to deliver some amazing outcomes for our patients, and we’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join us!

Let's talk about the role:
As a Mechanical Engineer you will be directly involved in the engineering of our life support ventilators and our respiratory care portfolio. This role will allow you to explore innovative ideas and develop further within your engineering journey.
- Apply technical expertise while considering marketing requirements, patient and customer needs, human factors/usability, therapy performance requirements, environmental factors, and design for manufacturing and assembly.
- Take a mature approach to design, prototype and test mechanical systems
- Operate with a high level of initiative and autonomy, whilst interacting collaboratively with team members and other areas of the business.
- Take ownership of tasks and feel empowered to execute and deliver.
- Assess and effectively communicate the impact of issues to internal customers and business stakeholders.
- Design and develop products for manufacture, including creating specifications and test plans.
- Test (including verification and validation) products to ensure they meet requirements.
- Document the development and testing of designs.
- Pro-actively communicating with internal and external suppliers on technical matters in relation to design issues.
- Work within regulatory requirements such as ISO and FDA.

To excel as a Mechanical Engineer, you will need to be an innovative problem solver with strong analytical skills and excellent communication. You take ownership, and execute autonomously, yet with a high level of awareness as to when to reach out and ask the right questions.
As an experienced Engineer, you will bring expertise in Mechanical Engineering, incorporating new ideas into current practices and areas of expertise. You will be committed to providing high quality products and have a willingness to lead and mentor other engineers.
To get us really excited, you will have the above attributes and the following qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent
- Proven engineering experience in product development, preferably within the medical industry
- Familiarity with 3-D CAD modelling, preferably Creo
