Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson

The Opportunity:Our Client is a supplier and manufacturer of mining equipment, including drilling equipment and conveyor systems, used in the mining and quarrying industries. They specialize in providing solutions for the extraction of materials such as coal, limestone, gypsum, and other minerals. Our client serves customers both locally and internationally, offering a range of products and services to support mining operations. Their equipment is designed to enhance productivity, safety, and efficiency in mining and quarrying operations.

Our client is looking to add a Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson to the team, reporting to the Production Coordinator. This is a permanent and full-time position based in Beresfield, Newcastle. 

What You Will be Responsible For:

This opportunity will be responsible for supporting engineers in providing a combination of technical and operational design and drafting support for projects committed by our client. Your responsibilities day to day could include:
- Produce machining and fabrication drawings, 3D models and diagrams suitable for clients and internal teams
- Monitor and inspect complete works to ensure alignment 
- Complete design tasks to ensure services complete with technical requirements, costs and schedule
- Contribute to design changes and solutions during the project lifecycle
- Input into bill of materials to assist production workflow

What You Will Bring:

- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent fields of study
- 5 years' experience in a mechanical drafting role
- Experience with 3D CAD software - Solid Works and Inventor preferable
- Exposure to industry standards for mining and quarry products is advantageous
- Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders during the project lifecycle
