The Role:
We are now actively seeking qualified and experienced Mechanical fitters for an upcoming project in Perth/Darwin.
This position is primarily an internal facing role that supports the Project Engineer through safe and timely execution of site activities, in accordance with company’s and client’s processes procedures. The Mechanical Fitter will participate in preventative maintenance, setup, function test and operation of company’s equipment.
This is Not a Fly in fly out role.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update equipment and spares inventory
- Perform daily equipment maintenance tasks in accordance with preventative maintenance procedures and checklists,
- Function test equipment prior to Mobilisation, and periodically offshore during periods of stand down,
- Report any equipment faults or non-conformances to the site Supervisor or Engineer,
- Maintain inventory of all test and measurement equipment, including calibration and FAT records,
- Complete equipment set up (including offloading, rig-up, rig-down and back loading) as directed by the Supervisor and set out within the operational procedures, in full compliance with applicable Project QA and HSE requirements
- Confirm equipment calibration is valid prior to operation
- Operate plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines, operating procedures and standard practices
- Ensure all near misses, incidents and/or accidents are promptly reported to the Project Engineer and/or Supervisor
- Ensure all changes are reported to the Supervisor and managed in accordance with Project applicable systems and procedures
- Assist with the preparation of daily operational logs, and testing data
- Works with close supervision assembling and tightening bolted joints and other Flange Management activities
- Correctly uses bolt tensioning and torque equipment.
- Adheres to safe and specified pressures when tightening or torque joints.
- Complies with specific task requirements including identifying potential hazards using risk assessments.
- Correctly uses all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
- Accurate and timely completion and submission of all job-related documentation including flange tightening reports/joint completion certificates.
- Works closely with other disciplines on site to ensure the professional and safe completion of all tasks.
- Works predominantly within all onshore and offshore environments.
- Adheres to all site related procedures and processes including permit to work etc.
- Maintains a high standard of tidiness within own work area.
- Adhere and comply with all site safety and quality control system.
Experience /Qualifications:
- Relevant site experience
- Understanding of processes & procedures
- Completed HSE essentials training
- Completed mandatory internal training courses
- Successful competency assessment
- Mechanical Apprenticeship or Trade Certificate
