We’re looking for a Mechanical Fitter to permanently join our team located in Cairns.

Remuneration:
- From $101,800 per annum + 12.75% superannuation + allowances
The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the applicant’s knowledge, skill and competencies required for the position.
You’ll be required to attend to unscheduled services, breakdowns, and after-hours response including work on Thursday Island. After hour call outs will receive applicable overtime and on call allowances.

About the role:
As a Mechanical Fitter, you hold:
- Trade Certificate in a mechanically related discipline - Diesel Fitter, Plant Mechanic or Mechanical Fitter/Turner
- HR class driver’s licence
- Licences in Crane operator, Rigger, and Dogman
About you:
Critical to your success in the role, is your:
- Demonstrated knowledge of an electricity distribution/transmission system, including construction and maintenance of the electrical network.
- Working knowledge of Electricity Act & Regulations, Workplace Health & Safety Act and Regulations, and other relevant statutory acts & regulations.
- Availability for call out and emergency work.
- Willingness to travel to surrounding areas from time to time to undertake work.
- Current ‘C’ class open Drives Licence.
- You will be required to complete a pre-employment medical as part of the selection process.
