Programmed Skilled Workforce, in partnership with TRONOX offers the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification as a Mechanical Fitter & Machinist Apprentice (MEM30205 Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade)

Tronox is a fully integrated titanium minerals producer and pigment manufacturer. At our three operations in Western Australia, we extract and process rich mineral sands into a range of valuable products which are exported to international markets. Our sites based in Kwinana, Chandala, and Cooljarloo are all within 2 hours drive of Perth and form part of the global operations of Tronox Limited, one of the world's largest producers of titanium dioxide pigment, with a global customer base.
Located in Kwinana, Tronox Kwinana Plant, the apprentice will assist with interpreting drawing, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying of mechanical equipment within the mechanical workshop and onsite, whilst working alongside a qualified tradesperson.
Who we're looking for:
It's important you're willing to learn and develop your skills over this apprenticeship and have a good attitude and strong work ethic. You will be willing to work as part of an experienced team under close supervision and also at times independently.
In addition, you will:
- Have excellent communication, literacy and numeracy skills
- Have a great attention for detail and good problem solving skills
- Have the ability to meet deadlines and cooperate with other in a team environment
- Be punctual, reliable and presentable
- Demonstrate basic knowledge and understanding of relevant workplace health and safety requirements.
Skills and Experience
To be successful, you will meet the following criteria:
- Completion of secondary education (Minimum)
- Ability to work 8-12 hour shifts - Monday to Friday
- Have some mechanical understanding and aptitude
- Good numerical and communication skills (verbal and written)
- A current WA drivers licence and own transport
- Strong commitment to safety and driven work ethic
- The ability to pass pre-employment medical and regular drug & alcohol screening tests
- Genuine interest in a career within the role
