Mechanical Fitter

Join our team at Synaco Global, and work with our client who is leader in automation and mechanical services based in Thomastown. This role is based onsite in Thomastown for $69.00 per hour + Super & Overtime + $30 per day travel allowance. The hours are 10 am-6 pm for this afternoon shift.
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking skilled Mechanical Fitters to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting breakdown repairs and ongoing preventative maintenance on our fixed plant machinery and equipment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your expertise will contribute to the smooth operation of our production processes.
Responsibilities:

• Perform breakdown repairs on machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and ensure production continuity.
• Conduct ongoing preventative maintenance tasks to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
• Diagnose mechanical problems, troubleshoot malfunctions, and implement effective solutions.
• Carry out scheduled maintenance activities according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with other team members and departments to coordinate maintenance activities and optimize equipment performance.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment condition.
• Use FIX software to log all jobs completed.

Requirements:

• Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade or similar.
• Experienced in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of machinery operation and maintenance principles.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical issues and performing repairs effectively.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and blueprints.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work a 10 am to 6 pm shift schedule, with overtime as needed.
