Mechanical Fitter - Perth Based - Long Term Work
Our client has a long history of manufacturing quality conveyor components for local and international markets dating back to the late 19th century. They are recognised as the industry standard and have designed and built conveyors and components found in most mines, ports and other large bulk material handling plants.
Due to their continued success and increasing client expansion, they are looking for Mechanical Fitters for an immediate start. This will be an initial 12 month on going contract with potential to go permanent.
Despite the success of our client they have retained a friendly and family like culture. They are a dynamic team with many of them having been with the company for several years; having progressed within the business.
The roles and responsibilities of the role would be
* Measuring and marking out materials for fabrication.
* Keeping records of operations, safety and maintenance procedures.
* Cutting, grinding and shaping metal and other materials.
* Interpreting diagrams, drawings, specifications and plans to determine suitable material and sequence of operations.
* Operating specialised tools and machinery.
* Assembling fabricated parts to produce tools and machines.
* Following safety protocols.
* Diagnosing and repairing faults with tools and machinery, and performing regular maintenance.
* Setting up tools and machinery for fabrication process, including guides, stops and other controls.
* Monitoring fabrication process and adjusting settings when necessary.
The ideal candidate needs to possess the following:
* Experience in either the manufacturing or mining environment
* Workshop experience is preferred
* Trade qualified
