Mechanical Fitter - Rail Components

Three exciting opportunities have come up for Mechanical Fitters to join a Drivetrain company based in Dandenong on a 6 MONTH TEMP TO PERM BASIS.

You must be trade qualified and have experience in rolling stock, rail, process line, automotive, and or Defence / Gov't sectors.

The role: 

• Strip and Overhauling drive system components
• Diagnose and repair faults
• Drills holes, taps threads for bolting parts together and assembling parts
• Examine detailed drawings or specifications to find out job, material and equipment requirements
• Remove, repair, replace, fit or assemble parts or components on large machinery and equipment, 
• Read drawings and document precision measurements
• Welding hot works, cutting bearings using oxy cutter,

ENEFITS INCLUDE: 

• 5 weeks annual leave (once converted to perm) 
• Approx 3 weeks Christmas bonus 
• Pay goes straight from Normal rate to Double rate  (penalties - no 1.5x)

The Person: 

• Trades Qualification Mechanical Fitter / Engineering 
• Experience in rolling stock/railway equipment
• Exposure to hydraulic/pneumatic systems
• Sound general engineering knowledge
• Sound knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Sound organisational skills
