Multidrive Technology is a 100% Australian owned company located in Geelong, Victoria. For more than 25 years MDT has provided complete in-house design, manufacture and assembly of specialised vehicles and off-road engineered modifications for commercial and emergency service fleet, domestic retail and export markets. From 6x6 conversions, chassis extensions and GVM Upgrades, we also design and build steel and aluminium trays, modules and specialised trailers.
Recent expansion into a new vehicle workshop facility and rapidly expanding growth sees the need for an experienced and motivated Trade Assistant to join our team. Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, via our Lead Mechanic, the responsibilities of this full‑time position shall include:
- Installation of GVM upgrade suspension systems,
- Installation of specialist MDT products including track correction diff upgrades, dual batteries,
- Installation of general 4x4 accessories, including bull bars, winches, etc.,
- Vehicle preparation and assembly activities associated with chassis extensions and 6‑wheel conversions,
- Maintenance and/or servicing of existing MDT components,
- Assembling and packing product kits ready for distribution to private and workshop customers, and
- A range of other general tasking and workshop activities as per company requirements.
To be successful in this role the candidate will require proven:
- Experience in a mechanical, automotive, or general workshop environment,
- Adherence to safe working practices,
- Proficiency in utilising various electric, hydraulic, pneumatic, and hand tools,
- Competency in using precision measurement tools,
- Ability to follow established procedures and work instructions,
- Attention to detail and high quality standards, and
- Self-motivation, with strong work ethic and problem-solving ability.
The following attributes will further be well regarded:
- Forklift licence,
- Active interest within the off-road vehicle space,
- Knowledge of brake & driveline systems, axle assembly, exhausts, and wiring modifications, and
- Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems and their components.
