The Site
Northern Australian Operations consists of an Ammonium Phosphate Mine and Processing Plant (Phosphate Hill) and Sulphuric Plant (Mt Isa) in North Queensland. This role is based at the Mt Isa Acid plant and facilities comprise of Primary and Secondary Gas Plants, Oxidation, Sulphur Storage and Prep Area and Turbine Hall.
The role
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter to join the Mount Isa team. Reporting to the Mount Isa Maintenance Team Leader, this position provides a maintenance service to the Mount Isa operations, to ensure the ongoing reliability of the plant.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Providing a responsive service to meet unplanned maintenance requests and scheduled maintenance plans as per weekly SAP work order process,
- Carrying out maintenance tasks within budget and in compliance with Site Engineering and Maintenance Standards,
- Working as part of a team to follow processes and procedures relating to maintenance tasks, safety, quality and environment with a ‘do it once, do it right’ mindset,
- Working closely with the operations team to achieve plant reliability and production targets
- Providing input into improvements for reliability maintenance strategies and working closely with reliability engineers.
About you

Experience
- 2 years experience in mining/chemical manufacturing industry
- SAP Experience
- Strong safety Focus
- Perform work to high quality
- Experience with performing maintenance on pumps, valves, air compressors, turbines, blowers, burners, cooling fans.
- Exceptional diagnostic and problem solving skills, and
- The ability to manage own time and schedule as well as the initiative to problem solve under pressure.

- Fitter/ Turner or Fitter/Machinist Trade Qualification
- Current “C” Drivers Licence.
- Forklift Ticket
- EWP Ticket

- Bridge and Gantry Crane (CB) License
- Basic Rigging License
- C2 and/or C6 crane ticket
