Mechanical Fitter/Maintenance Fitter/Mechanic

Our client is Australia’s largest family owned and operated vertically integrated beef and veal production and processing operation. They are a diverse business packing beef for both local and export markets and delivering to our long-standing business partners.

Our client’s establishment in based at Coominya just north of the Lockyer Valley in the Somerset Region of South East Queensland. The plant is 45 minutes from Brisbane and Toowoomba, 30 minutes from Ipswich and 1 hour 30 minutes from Gold Coast. 

They are currently seeking qualified Mechanical fitters/Maintenance fitters/Mechanic to join their team. 

The responsibility of this role is:

·        Have a strong preventative approach to breakdown maintenance

·        Reading and interpreting of parts manuals and service diagrams

·        Contribute to improving systems, procedures, and maintenance

·        Optimise the performance of all equipment on a daily basis

·        Understand the urgent nature of the business and manage competing priorities

·        Be able to troubleshoot and problem solve

·        Communicate with contractors and department Supervisors regarding reliable maintenance of plant

·        Continuous improvement of plant and equipment

·        Monitor, follow up and address all maintenance tasks

About you:

·        Trade qualifications – Certificate III in Mechanical trade or Engineering minimum

·        Experience in Maintenance fitting or Fitter-mechanic role: highly regarded experience in Food or manufacturing environment

·        Strong mechanical aptitude and great diagnostic for fault finding

·        Ability to work independently and as part of a team

·        Positive, can-do attitude

·        Self-starter

·        Willing to be vaccinated against Q-Fever
