About the PositionWe are currently seeking applications for an experienced Fitter & Turner to join our team located in our Mills in the Burdekin, Proserpine and Mackay regions. There is a permanent Day Work position. Ther is potential to transfer to a Shift position meaning during the Production season you work shift, and during the maintenance season day work. Penalties are paid for working over your 38 hour per week roster! Job level will depend on current qualifications and skills mix.Main duties include but are not limited to:
- Undertaking preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on variety of equipment (from pumps, crushing mills to turbines)
- Conducting safe quality of work
- Identifying potential improvements to work practices and conditions
- Supporting improvement projects that aim to reduce unplanned stoppages
- Mentoring of apprentices as required
- Maintaining and improving OH&S and overall operational standards in the workplace

Essential Criteria:- Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering (Fitting) or equivalent
- Previous Heavy Industrial work history highly regarded

The salary offered will be commensurate with individual skills and experience. The indicative salary range is between $70,000 (TL10) and $77,000 (TL08) annually.
