About the role

As a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter working at the Viva Energy Polymers site, you will be maintaining our diverse fleet of rotating equipment and other mechanical equipment. Working within Viva Energy Australia’s safe working procedures and practices you will.

Conduct strip & assessment, overhaul and repair works on various rotating equipment (pumps, compressors and electric motors).
Machine parts to modify or manufacture as part of overhaul or repair works.
Use problem solving, failure analysis and decision-making skills to troubleshoot equipment issues and failures.
Work within our CMMS to document maintenance history.

This role also includes responding to afterhours call-ins, as required to support critical business activities.

Skills and Experience

A qualified Fitter/machinist with a trade certificate. You will have specific experience in rotating equipment in an oil and gas, industrial, mining or power station setting. Competent in the use of workshop machinery and literacy in CMMS and computer. Preferably you will hold a dogman or riggers qualifications, welding (arc and MiG), Hydraulic and pneumatic experience and forklift licence.

You will need to be able to plan and manage your time, working to deadlines and changing priorities. Working in a team environment you will also be an excellent communicator and problem solver able to work with other work groups such as operations, engineering and other trades. You will be a good decision maker using your judgement and experience to find the best solutions. You must be willing to stop and seek out help if your work cannot be performed safely.
