The role:
We are seeking Mechanical Technicians responsible for providing mechanical support to our team on site. This position would involve providing mechanical technical support to Fitters and Boilermakers as well as assisting Maintenance Supervisors.
Your overall responsibilities for this position:
- Providing Mechanical technical support for Fitter and Boilermaker as well as Plant Maintenance Supervisors.
- Review and improve the effectiveness of Mechanical asset maintenance strategies and associated support systems.
- Participate in and or lead RCA processes as required.
- Identifying and delivering safe and effective modifications and upgrades of mechanical assets around the Plant.
- Working with maintenance and shutdown Planners/Schedulers to ensure correct timeline schedules, the scope of work, and appropriate personnel assigned to the task.
- Stepping up to Maintenance Supervisor when required.
- Training and assessing for Tradesmen competencies around VOC’s and Plant Isolations
- Consulting with OEM and technical experts during breakdown events and communicate relevant information to the team.
- Effectively developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers and stakeholders
To be successful in this role, you will require the following experience and qualifications.
- Trade qualifications – Mechanical or Engineering
- Demonstrated experience working with Engineers and Tradesmen of all abilities and experience.
- Excellent communication skills both in person and written.
- Previous experience working in fixed plant within the mining or heavy industrial plant/equipment.
- Supervisory qualifications
- Proactively identifying potential equipment failures and requesting proactive corrective actions. Troubleshooting equipment failure and making recommendations to avoid repeating the problem in the future.
- Coordinating, preparing, and ensuring that all materials, parts, documentation, and equipment are available and at the appropriate quality for Service activities.
- Driver’s licence
- Working in Confined Spaces
- Working at Heights
- EWP and Telehandler ticket desirable
- Current White
- Demonstrated experience working in construction, dust extraction experience highly desirable.
