As a privately owned National organisation, this group provides technical mechanical, and hydraulic application support and service for mobile and fixed plant in the civil and mining equipment sectors. They currently have 15 staff in their WA facility that provide field and workshop repair, maintenance and service. The organisation prides itself on being a transparent and inclusive employer, with a flat open-door management structure.
The position
As the Mechanical Supervisor, you will be required to support and supervise 6 staff within the workshop, providing technical support, guidance and training. You will be required to conduct troubleshooting, service and maintenance of hydraulicly driven attachments for rock breakers, shears, portable crushing, compactors and hydraulic sawing attachments. In addition, you will supervise trades staff during site installations and be required to prepare work progress reports and liaise with the workshop and branch managers.
Duties include:
- Support and assist mechanical trades staff
- Conduct hydraulic and mechanical service work
- Coordinate workshop and field breakdown and commissioning work
- Prepare weekly work-in-progress reports
- Maintain a high standard of workshop safety and housekeeping
- Identify additional work or opportunities while on-site
- Be trade qualified in either mechanical or heavy diesel fitting
- Bring a sound understanding of mechanical hydraulic fluid power application
- Have the ability to interpret hydraulic circuits and mechanical drawings
- Have a proactive supervisory or leadership approach
- Have sound verbal and written communication skills
