The Role
We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Maintenance Technician with manufacturing or production-based experience to oversee, maintain, install, and repair equipment within our Dairy product facility located in Darra.
This rewarding role is based in Darra and is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated Mechanical Maintenance Technician who will look to provide Mechanical Maintenance of plant, processes, services, and spare parts management to ensure an optimal plant processing function as well as involvement in new project work.
This role reports to the Site Operations Manager, as well as having direct working relationships with co-workers and maintenance subcontractors. The position is responsible for undertaking tasks in the preventative maintenance plan, as well as managing assigned plant improvement projects, including coordinating, and supervising external maintenance services.
Responsibilities in this role include:
- Work directly with production team to ensure maximum availability and efficiency of our production facility.
- Abide by Barambah Organics safety practices and policies.
- Assist in the installation of plant & apparatus.
- Maintain plant & apparatus.
- Record daily activities in engineering diary including specific details such as parts used/required documentation of downtime.
- Ensure safety requirements are factored into work planning & scheduling.
- Work with specialist contractors for our plant, processes, and services.
- Set up a Preventative Maintenance Program.
- Complete Preventative Maintenance system tasks as per weekly checklist.
- Complete tasks as assigned in engineering database in specific timeframes.
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following skills and experience:
- A comprehensive continuous improvement experience.
- Certificate III Engineering Mechanical Trade or equivalent
- Basic pneumatics knowledge and experience
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team.
- Sound computer skills.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of WHS regulations/procedures
- A passion for innovation and a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team.
- Previous maintenance experience in FMCG, beverage/food manufacturing or similar 2+ years.
- A proactive attitude towards learning and dealing with a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced mechanical fault finding and problem-solving skills.
- Refrigeration experience but not essential.
- Boiler Ticket but not essential.
- Basic welding experience but not essential.
- Working at heights but not essential.
- Confined space entry but not essential.
