The leading infrastructure recruitment specialist are looking for a Mechanical QC Inspector, to join a global leader in Infrastructure sector for one of Australia's technical infrastructure projects involving subways, hydraulic tunnels, hydroelectric power plants/stations, and pumping facilities.

Job Role / Responsibilities
- Mechanical Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of mechanical components, ensuring they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Testing: Perform mechanical tests, such as dimensional checks, hardness tests, or functional tests, using precision measurement equipment and methods.
- Defect Identification: Identify and document mechanical defects, non-conformities, or discrepancies, and determine their impact on quality.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of mechanical inspections, test results, and quality-related documentation.
- Non-Conformity Resolution: Collaborate with production teams or suppliers to address and resolve mechanical quality issues, recommending corrective actions.
- Quality Compliance: Ensure that mechanical components comply with relevant industry codes, standards, and specifications.
- Reporting: Communicate mechanical quality findings and issues to supervisors and relevant stakeholders.
- Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and practices while conducting inspections and tests.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance mechanical quality control processes and procedures.
- Training: Provide training and guidance to colleagues or suppliers on mechanical quality control best practices.
- Rotation schedule 14 days on, 7 days off or 14x7.
The infrastructure project is based in Cooma, Australia and consists of the construction of several tunnels, hydroelectric plants and pumping facilities, the construction has just started and is estimated to last for at least 4 years.
Requirements
- Tertiary Qualifications or related discipline such as, diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- White Card
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical quality control or a related role.
- Proven track record of conducting mechanical inspections and tests.
- Experience working on large scale construction projects or other suitable projects works.
- Good understanding of Quality Specification (Q6) and ISO AS/NZS 9001 requirements.
- Sound knowledge of construction materials and related specifications.
- Experience in Microsoft office suite and any EMDS.
