Working a 9 day fortnight (5/2/4/3), you will have every second Friday offReporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, our Mechanical Fitters are responsible for safely and effectively maintaining and repairing a wide range of mechanical plant and equipment within the plant.The key duties include:
- Experience in the removal, installation, maintenance and overhaul of rotating equipment, pumps, piping, compressors, heat exchangers, steam equipment and pressure vessels.
- Competency in identifying and reporting defects and suggesting improvements to existing plant equipment, methods and procedures.
- Provide a proactive approach to preventative maintenance at all time and when breakdowns do occur, ensures a high standard of workmanship is carried out
- Completion of all documentation to a high standard to ensure accurate and detailed information is entered into Tronox's Maintenance Systems
- Highly committed to a positive safety, hazard identification and reporting culture
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Assisting Operators as required, including preparing and isolating equipment
- Recording process information and identification of opportunities for improvement
- Mechanical Trade Certificate - Fitting (essential)
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Mechanical Maintainer role including experience with Process Plants, Pumps, Structural, Mechanical and Piping works within the Mining industry (highly desired)
- Current C Class Drivers' Licence unrestricted (essential)
- Experience in fault finding and repairs to hydraulic systems
- Team orientated approach to your work while possessing the ability to work independently if required
- Have solid decision making skills
- Demonstrated strong commitment to safety
