About the Opportunity
The Essential Services (ES) team within Ngaanyatjarra Services has an exciting opportunity for a permanent full time Mechanical Tradesperson to join the team on a FIFO roster from Perth to the Ngaanyatjarra Lands.
Working under the direction of the Essential Services Supervising Tradesperson, the role of the Mechanical Tradesperson to assist the team with the delivery of planned and preventative maintenance and repairs on power, potable water, and effluent assets.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be required to:
- Find faults and perform repairs.
- Perform any scheduled or unscheduled preventative maintenance to ES facilities including but not limited to diesel engines and power generation equipment.
- Pay close attention to preventative maintenance to prolong the life and efficiency of assets.
- Follow standard procedures when completing the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
- Manage mechanical spares and consumable stocks to ensure there is adequate stock levels including critical spares.
- Work collaboratively with other trades, managers, and supervisors.
- Undertake other duties relevant to the position as required.
- Attend on and off site training.

The successful candidate will possess:
- A trade qualification in diesel mechanical or relevant trade qualification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office applications.
- Experience in minor metal fabrication.
- Willingness and ability to reside in a ‘dry’ remote Aboriginal community.
- Current HR drivers’ licence or willingness to obtain.
- Willingness and ability to participate in discussion to improve service delivery.
