Ricardo Rail Australia is currently looking for a dedicated and well-organized Engineer who is driven to gain experience in Mechanical, Mechatronic, and/ or Electrical Engineering. You will be responsible for supporting the Ricardo Mechanical Engineering team in Australia across all projects, including support to international projects and bids.

Additionally, you will collaborate with others to find innovative and optimized solutions for clients across the project life cycle.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical mechanical, mechatronic, or electrical engineering input
- Work collaboratively with engineers (including in other disciplines), subsystem / subject matter experts, project teams, and other internal and external stakeholders to achieve project and business outcomes
- Work directly with clients (including deployment to client teams and site visits) to deliver exceptional technical expertise
- Review technical submissions at various phases of engineering design for compliance
- Attend site to provide advice on technical matters
- Develop trade-off reports as required to support decision making.
- Lead, participate in, support, and contribute to workshops and meetings with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Produce, contribute to, and review engineering documentation including reports, calculations, specifications, and procedures.
- Produce, contribute to, and review management and project deliverables, including plans, schedules, risk assessments, issues, and registers
- Review engineering documents, make comments and recommendations incorporating input from stakeholders and subject matter experts
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to deliver findings and develop amendments
- Support new business development for Ricardo (e.g. new tenders)
- Support development and improvement of company systems and processes
- Abide by applicable workplace health and safety policies and procedures
- Other tasks as reasonably directed, having regard to your skills, training, and experience
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (essential)
- 2 to 5 years engineering experience (essential)
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Electrical Engineering (desirable)
- Rolling stock experience (desirable)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and foster collaborative relationships.
Skills:
- Highly organised with a continuous improvement skillset.
- Able to flex where needed and juggle competing priorities to meet strict deadlines.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication.
- Proficiency in another language/s (desirable).
