About the Business:
Teck Global is an industry leading integrator operating in the electrification space with a focus on the design and manufacture switch rooms and kiosk substations.
We are growing our delivery team and will have the opportunity to work on some of the biggest electrification projects currently taking place in WA. To support this, we are seeking an experienced Project Engineer/Package engineer with a structural/mechanical background and experience in manufacturing and/or construction experience. Experience in modular fabrication or projects with significant electrical interface will be an advantage.
About the Role:
This is a full-time permanent position for work on live projects.
The Project Engineer will report to the Project Manager and be working closely with the Site Coordinator and team. Key accountabilities include::
- Managing the Quality Assurance systems within the Project.
- Preparing , awarding and managing sub-contractor packages to support project delivery
- Managing the Design process including coordination between in house design teams, supplier design teams and client consultants.
- Interfacing across disciplines to identify and manage change.
- Delivery of the required project drawings and documentation..
- Reviewing constructability of the works.
- Supporting fabrication activities in our yards interfacing directly with the construction team.
- Monitoring progress including daily site records, QA records
- Reporting against programmes and delivering accurate forecasts.
- Reading and interpreting plans, drawings and specifications and ensuring that current information is communicated to the site team.
- Ensuring that all works are carried out in accordance with the current documentation, and the contract Scope of Works.
- Managing the ITP process ensuring third party engineering inspections are undertaken.
- Act as an advocate for performance within the team
- Promote a strong safety culture.
Skills and Experience:
- Formal Structural/Mechanical engineering or construction qualification.
- Previous construction/manufacturing experience in a building or Structural/Mechanical environment (Transportable Buildings & will be an advantage).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience.
- Experience managing Subcontractors.
- Experience working with MS Office, MS Excel, MS Project, and P6.
- Innovative and a strong ability to work autonomously, independently and with minimal supervision.
- Be self-driven with the goal to progress your career.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to liaise with clients and in house teams.
- A delivery focused individual with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Ability to work to tight schedules and deadlines.
- Unrestricted right to work in Australia.
- Sound technical ability and able to read and interpret plans, drawings & specifications and can communicate the information to the site team.
