AddressWe are seeking an experienced Project Engineer – Structural or Project Leader - Structural (Property & Buildings) for a role in our Subiaco office. You will be an integral member of our team delivering quality services on projects from around Australia.
You will be involved in structural design of building projects focused in the commercial, retail, health, industrial, high rise and education sectors. The are opportunities for training and to work in the mining or transport sector if you desire.

Pritchard Francis have a strong workflow backed by a repeat client base which covers all facets of Property and Building work inclusive of multi-storey residential, shopping centres, bulky goods, offices, industrial warehouses, hotels, education, aged care and health projects.
Role Responsibilities include:
- Determining construction methods, materials and quality standards, and drafting and interpreting specifications, drawings, plans, construction methods and procedures.
- All aspects of design in structural engineering with a focus on Property and Building projects.
- Preparation of design sketches and details for drafting by technical staff and oversee the design development and documentation.
- Monitoring changes to designs, assessing effects on cost, and measuring, valuing and negotiating variations to designs.
- Liaising with and coordinating various stakeholders including clients, local government, and authorities.
- Meeting our client expectations of projects being delivered on time and with a high degree of accuracy.
- Attending site for inspections.
- Analysing structural systems for both static and dynamic loads
- Designing structures to ensure they do not collapse, bend, twist or vibrate in undesirable ways.
We are keen to hear from candidates with 5 or more years’ experience who have a strong technical base and want to grow and develop their engineering skills. You will receive mentoring and support from Project Directors and Leaders, to develop and tailor your role to suit your strengths and passions to support career growth.
What You Will Bring:
Key skills and experience of the successful candidate will include:
- Tertiary level qualifications in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- 5+ years plus experience in a consulting environment.
- Strong communication and liaison abilities to engage with clients and other engineers.
- Strong practical understanding, proactive high-level thinking, and high attention to detail.
- Exposure to developing structural design across a range of project cycles utilising relevant standards and best practice methodologies.
