Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.Roster: Monday - FridayJoining our global Communications team, this brand new position will be integral in providing external media, community, investor and government engagement support. This position has a deep focus on Australian and Indo-Pacific media and communications for Fortescue energy, reporting into the global Fortescue communications team working on some of our exciting projects. The role will cover many areas of communications including developing communications plans, writing, and developing strong media strategies to support Fortescue's overall business objectives.We're looking for someone who is a dynamic communications professional with the ability to showcase Fortescue's success to both key internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Cultivate and maintain strong relationship with media outlets, journalists, and investor audiences to secure positive coverage and manage media inquiries effectively
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive, engaging and reactive communication strategies aligned with Fortescue's objectives and values
- Create engaging and informative content for press releases, articles, social media and other communications platforms to promote Fortescue's achievements
- Develop crisis communication plans and protocols to address potential issues promptly and mitigate reputational risks
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, investors and government agencies to foster positive relationships and collaboration
- Monitor media coverage and industry trends, conduct analysis and generate reports to assess the effectiveness of communication strategies and make data-drive recommendation for improvement
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, disclosure requirements and corporate governance standards relating to media and investor relations activities.
Qualifications and Experience- Extensive background in communications, with the opportunity to leverage other skills including media, content creation, public relations, investor relations and events.
- A bachelor's degree in communications or related discipline/field such as public relations, digital communications or journalism is preferred.
- Understanding of green energy industries is ideal as well as experience working for a publicly listed company.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Candidates must be able to bring a flexible mindset, challenge traditional thinking and be prepared to work outside of their comfort zone
