About our opportunity
Our External Relations department are on the search to fill this integral role on their leadership team!
As the Media Manager you will be the sole source for providing strategic media advice for the organisation, with a focus on enhancing and protecting City of Moreton Bay’s corporate reputation.
We will look to you to develop and manage strategic media engagement and publicity plans, respond to media enquiries, and provide public relations support to key stakeholders.
You will also develop and lead Council’s media strategy, including priority messaging, a campaign approach to strategic positioning, media famils and media partnerships.
As a growing region and Australia's newest City, there are always exciting projects on the horizon such as the Waste Reform Agenda, Olympics and major infrastructure projects - and this role will have you liaising with those teams in the know to identify those positive story angles to pitch.

About you
We are seeking someone with extensive experience in strategic media liaison and public relations within a corporate and political context and looking for that next challenge!
As a natural collaborator you will bring strong stakeholder engagement skills to see you quickly build quality working relationships with a varied audience, from media sources, other council departments and the greater external relations team.
You will be an engaging writer with a forensic eye for detail, experienced and enthusiastic about turning complicated topics/research/analysis into more easily comprehended and engaging messages for target audiences.
With your calm, flexible approach you will be be agile in priortising deadlines to deliver in an evolving environment.
Your strong communication skills paired with an understanding of strategic and political perspectives on federal, state and local matters you quickly have you become a valuable member of our leadership team.
