About the Company
This client is a leading Government agency seeking an experienced Media Manager to join a busy team.
Day to day activities
Contribute to, and provide content development for, a range of written materials, including media releases
Coordinate media and communications reporting across a number of projects simultaneously, ensuring activities are documented and delivered in a timely manner.
Coordinate project tracking to ensure senior managers/ministerial executive services are regularly updated and aware of approaching communications and content deadlines in adherence with project plans.
Develop, monitor and update media and communications record keeping processes to ensure consistency and alignment across the Communications directorate and with department standards.
Conduct media monitoring for the Communications directorate, reviewing the department's daily media clippings and broader online websites to identify and distribute articles and content relevant to the department
Contribute to the development and adherence of processes that ensure reports, images and media collateral for external use are aligned with approved brand requirements.
ideal candidate
Tertiary qualifications in media, journalism or similar; or equivalent experience
Demonstrated 5 years' experience in media relations, including contacts with media organisations and an understanding of emergent issues impacting the client group
Comfortable advising senior management on how to build effective media relations programmes which engage the media, clients and our people.
The ability to think creatively to deliver media programmes that engages and connects with all employees and stakeholders
Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
Excellent communication, influencing and writing skills.
