Our Region
Medical Imaging is seeking an enthusiastic candidate for a Grade 2 Medical Imaging Technologist. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate sound judgement and well rounded clinical skills in x-ray and CT. Experience in MRI is a non-essential bonus. Coordination and prioritization of workloads is essential in this role and participation in the rotating roster, including on-call is mandatory. As GV Health continues to expands this an opportune time to gain experience in a more senior role.
Medical Imaging offers a broad range of services to patients of all ages including general radiography, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, OPG, Fluoroscopy, operating theatre and emergency cases with a team of radiologists sharing interests in CTCA, musculoskeletal radiology, paediatrics, geriatrics, emergency and interventional radiology.
The successful candidate will be joining a social team of staff who pride themselves on their welcome and inclusion. Opportunities are available to participate in quality improvement and CPD with expansion into CT and/or MRI once skills and quality of work in general radiography have been demonstrated.
About the role
GV Health is seeking motivated radiographers looking for career progression to join our team in Shepparton. This is an exciting opportunity for radiographers with experience to join a supportive and welcoming team, broadening their clinical and professional leadership skills. You must be able to demonstrate current competency in general radiography and at least one of CT, MRI or Mammography.
You will work a 7-day rotating roster imaging both inpatients and outpatients in a rapidly growing regional hospital that has recently installed its second CT, two new x-ray rooms and a new ultrasound in the dedicated, newly built Satellite Imaging Hub. You will rotate through all areas of the department and across the health service, consolidating clinical and leadership skills. As the major hospital in the region, you will be exposed to patients presenting with a wide variety of health conditions including major and minor trauma, oncology, medical and surgical conditions, infectious diseases and mental health illnesses.
We are looking for
- Current MRPBA registration, Victorian Radiation Use Licence and driver's licence
- Flexibility to work across all shifts including on call and a seven-day roster
- Experience in CT desirable but not mandatory
- Self-motivated and capable of managing workloads independently with proven attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate compromise when conflict has the potential to impact upon patient safety or service quality with escalation to a line manager for longer term resolutions
- Active engagement in the supervision of students, trainees, graduates and Grade 1 Medical Imaging Technologists
