How you will make an impact
A position is available for a suitably experienced and qualified Medical Lab Technician (Histology) Grade 1 at Cabrini Malvern hospital site. The role is primarily responsible for the routine processing of Pathology specimens in a professional and efficient manner.
Our laboratory is located at Malvern hospital site and provides pathology services to all Cabrini campuses. The Laboratory is an independent diagnostic pathology service owned and operated by Cabrini and provides quality service for the rapid diagnosis of disease and subsequent patient monitoring.
Key duties of the role include:
Receiving/accessioning specimens into the laboratory in a timely and accurate manner
Taking appropriate action if specimen identification criteria are not met
Processing specimens as per departmental procedures
Referring specimens to external testing laboratories
Performing testing, either on analysers or manually to obtain results for reporting
About you
To be successful in this role you will require the following:
Relevant experience and qualifications
Solid communication skills
Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure/within tight timeframes
Ability to work well autonomously and as part of a team
Knowledge and experience of histology processing techniques
Knowledge and experience of cytology processing techniques and advantage
