Salary: $190,253 - $236,176 p.a. + 11% superannuation contribution

Apunipima Cape York Health Council is a community controlled Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health service, which provides culturally appropriate, family centred, primary health care services to the communities and people of Cape York.
About the Opportunity
The Medical Officer - Telehealth is responsible for delivering quality, comprehensive primary health care that is evidence-based and clinically safe within the framework of the Apunipima Model of Care to achieve improved health outcomes for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people in Cape York.
This position plays an integral role in ensuring clinical care is in accordance with national standards and fosters a culture focused on providing culturally appropriate client-centred care.
The position is Cairns based and will be required to provide telehealth services on site at Apunipima’s primary health care centres in Cape York from time to time.
Pre-employment screening for vaccination against Vaccine Preventable Diseases will be conducted for the successful applicant.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Medicine with current unrestricted specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) or Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP)
- Medical Indemnity Insurance
- Demonstrated experience delivering services in a primary health care setting, preferably providing telehealth services
- Experience in or a demonstrated commitment to improving Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health outcomes
- Ability to manage uncertainty and complex health issues in a remote setting
- Knowledge of relevant accreditation standards and quality management systems as they relate to telehealth service delivery.
- Strong time management skills, including the ability to manage own priorities
- Current Queensland Drivers Licence
- AFP National Police Check
