Job DescriptionAs a Medical Receptionist (Griffith’s title for this role as per the Position Description is Student Services Officer), you will be first point of contact for clients, external agencies and employees who use our services.
Work in collaboration with other Health and Medical, Counselling and Wellbeing Services staff, and visiting health practitioners, to provide, administrative support, client bookings, billing and financial reconciliation within the Health and Medical Services and the Counselling and Wellbeing Services of Griffith University.
This is a fixed-term, full time opportunity ending on 8 November 2024 .
Open hours are from 8.30 – 4.30 so you will need to be available for rostered start times of 7.45, 8 0r 8.30 between Monday – Friday and available to work until 4.30.
It is essential you be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment: measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), pertussis (whooping cough) and hepatitis B.
What we can offer
The full-time base salary is HEW Level 4, $70,419- $74,299 + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $82,390 - $86,930 per annum. You will be based at Gold Coast campus and across campus travel may be required at all times.

About you
- A team player and have experience working in a clinical / medical environment, have excellent interpersonal skills, be respectful, willing to go the extra mile.
- Ability to multitask, provide high level administrative support across the unit, manage billing within the Health and Medical Services, be responsible for the management of cash and EFTPOS transactions and reconciliation.
- Be familiar with practice management systems (Genie and Point and Click preferred, but not essential), coordinate practitioner appointment books, appropriately triage clients and be adapt at systems including Microsoft O365.
- Your strong Customer Service skills will ensure you thrive in this role.
