About The Role
As an administrative clerk within our Medical Records department, your role involves supporting the organised and efficient functioning of Health Information Services.
Reporting to the Health Information Manager, your duties include but are not limited to:
- Addressing and resolving queries from both internal and external Health Professionals;
- Compiling Medical Records of discharged patients into a standard order;
- Handling Medico Legal requests within specified deadlines;
- Ordering offsite records via online portals;
- Preparing Medical Records for external scanning ;
- Scanning loose sheets into the digital patient record
- Retrieving on-site Medical Records for forthcoming admissions and record requests
- Delivering medical to admissions, wards and clinical department
- Conducting filing, archiving and "culling" of Medical Records
- Utilising online patient administration system.
Your Qualifications and Attributes:
- Enthusiasm for patient care and a commitment to delivering customer-focused services at a high standard.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with colleagues, patients and families.
- Capability to handle demanding situations and meet strict deadlines.
- Demonstrated respect for privacy and confidentiality.
- Proven initiative-taking when required.
- Intermediate computer knowledge and literacy.
- Previous experience in a Medical Records department or similar clerical role within a healthcare setting.
- While prior experience in a private hospital setting is preferred, it is not essential.
