About the role
The incumbent is responsible for the advancement of Rheumatology Research at TQEH and, in collaboration with senior staff, the execution of laboratory and statistical aspects of the Rheumatology Unit’s research programs. The incumbent is required to initiate research programs consistent with Department objectives and reporting outcomes to the Director of Rheumatology.
To supervise, coordinate and recruit research staff and identify/complete funding applications and preparation and publication of research manuscripts.
Supervision of rheumatology registrar projects, visiting rheumatology fellows, and teaching in scientific techniques.
Establishment and ongoing maintenance of Statewide and National Rheumatology Patient Databases and Genetic/Serological Repositories.
Qualifications
- A PhD degree in medical sciences, or the combination of a degree in biological sciences, preferably with Honors, and relevant experience.
