About the role

• Contribute to the provision of an efficient and effective Anatomical Pathology service by providing a technical and scientific resource function to all areas of the department.
• Participate in the provision of a high-quality service by FMC Hospital Mortuary and Anatomical Pathology Laboratory.
• Perform routine and complex diagnostic testing and apply technical knowledge towards the performance, analysis and troubleshooting of standard diagnostic procedures.
• Using defined protocols examine, interpret, describe and dissect simple surgical and biopsy tissue specimens submitted for histopathological diagnosis.
• Contribute to quality assurance, NATA accreditation, training and on-going commitment to the teaching of pathologists, technical and scientific staff within FMC.
