An excellent part-time to full -time opportunity for a conscientious, well spoken Medical Secretaryhas become available within a modern, innovative and highly customer service focussed Orthopaedic Specialist Practice.
As the first point of contact for all patients & medical staff you will facilitate all aspects of customer service, ensuring a supportive & professional approach is maintained at all times.
Working days/time is negotiable. There is flexibility especially during school holidays when the surgeon could be away. You will not be expected to work weekends.
You will be working in our practice located at the brand new state-of-the-art Parkway San Clinic Wahroonga co-located with a number of other specialist practices within the suite.
This position requires a highly motivated & proactive individual, who is a strong team player. We highly value attributes such as attention to detail and the ability to be proactive.
You will be working closely with our full time practice manager and our principal orthopaedic surgeon who plays a very interactive role in the practice. He is approachable and enjoyable to work with. You will also work closely with the staff of the other practices in the same suite.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Meet & greet patients while maintaining the highest of customer service standards
- Answer telephone enquiries & schedule appointment and surgery bookings
- Prepare for upcoming patient consultations including collecting necessary information and reports
- Invoice & receipt patient consultations
- Organise surgery bookings & arrange corresponding tests & consultations
- Maintain documentation to professional standards
- Manage doctors correspondence
- Perform daily banking procedures
- Manage stock level of office supplies
- Medical billing is optional
Knowledge & Technical Experience:
Essential:
- Sound knowledge of operational practice issues gained through recent experience in medical practices or similar
- Computer skills with Genie and email
- Experience in a high level customer service environment
- Willingness to learn new concepts and processes
- Current drivers licence
Desirable:
- Experience with Windows operating systems
- Healthcare industry experience
- Experience in an orthopaedic specialist practice
- Experience with medical billing with a firm understanding of Medicare and private health insurance rules
