Kookaburra Eye Clinic is an established specialist ophthalmology practice with clinics in Como & Kelmscott. We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our dynamic practice, performing both reception and Ophthalmic assistant duties across both practices but principally in our Como location.
Experience in at least one of these roles is essential while we are happy to provide on the job training for the other.
Principal reception responsibilities include
- Provide excellent administration and reception support to the two Specialists and Practice Manager.
- Provides excellent customer service to patients, other health care providers, Optometrists and hospital staff as well as excellent communication skills within the office team environment.
- Maintains an elevated level of written and verbal communication skills. This includes a professional telephone manner and written email communications.
- Enthusiastic approach to work with a high level of attention to detail, time management skills and ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment and provide support to fellow Staff and the Practice Manager.
- Bookings, managing patient appointments, preparation and co-ordinating patient clinics.
- Accurate patient record management
- Clinic billing, end of day banking and debtor follow up.
- Other duties as required.
Principal Ophthalmic assistant duties include
- patients testing of visual acuity, visual fields, biometry and OCT
- Intra ocular pressure measurement
- instillation of eye drops
- patient communication
Desirable criteria include
- Optometric or Ophthalmic assistant experience
- medical reception experience in a Specialist Practice
- Experience using MS office and GENIE practice management software
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Ability and willingness to learn new and diverse tasks that may present in the future.
