The Role
A key focus of this role will be to enhance the delivery of exceptional member experience through supporting the development and delivery of a strategic roadmap, focusing on proposition innovation, and reimagining the future member experience.
Skills & Experience
- Ability to think critically, analyse market trends, and formulate long-term initiatives that align with MDA’s vision and objectives is fundamental. This includes the capacity to assess risks and opportunities effectively.
- Strong market research skills are crucial to understanding customer needs, competitive landscapes, and emerging trends.
- Demonstrated experience in gathering and analysing data to inform strategic decision making.
- Proven ability to create concise, impactful and engaging presentations, proposals, business cases and reports.
- Familiarity with insurance product development processes, including pricing, underwriting, and policy design is highly desirable.
- An understanding of emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, data analytics, and digital platforms.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, including assessing the financial feasibility of strategies and propositions.
- Skills in generating reports and making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Excellent written, presentation and facilitation skills with demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively and produce high-quality output across multiple engagements with conflicting priorities.
- Demonstrated and relevant experience in at least some of the following areas: design thinking, strategy, customer and knowledge and innovation
- Experience conducting qualitative research (e.g. one-on-one interviews) and quantitative research (e.g. survey, data analysis)
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Master’s Business Administration (MBA) is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience of excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated experience of exceptional written proposal skills and proposition development.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
- Previous experience within a member-based organisation, particularly in the healthcare or insurance industry would be advantageous.
Key Deliverables and Responsibilities
- Member Experience Enhancement: Focus on improving the overall member experience across a horizons model by identifying pain points, optimising processes, and designing innovative solutions. This includes awareness of technological advancements and digital trends relevant to the sector. Explore opportunities to leverage technology, such as AI, data analytics, and digital platforms, to enhance member experiences.
- Proposition Innovation: Create and refine propositions and proposals that meet the evolving needs of members. Tailor offerings to address specific market segments and differentiate the company from competitors.
- Service Model Innovation: Assess and communicate options for service operating model delivery across Build/Partner/Buy including associated due diligence and critical capability assessment. Where external partnership is required, enable the establishment of collaborations with external partners to leverage expertise and technologies that advance MDA’s market position.
- Market Research: Conduct in-depth market research to understand emerging trends, member needs, and competitive landscapes in the industry. Use market insights to inform strategy development and proposition design.
- Strategic Planning: Monitor and respond to market, business, and performance insights and stay updated on industry trends and best practices, incorporating advancements in data, technology, delivery channels, and audience segmentation to optimise member activity approaches.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, marketing, growth and engagement, member services and IT, to implement and execute strategic initiatives. Foster a culture of teamwork and innovation across teams within the organisation.
- Risk Assessment: Assess the risks associated with new strategies and propositions, considering regulatory compliance, financial implications, and potential market challenges. Develop risk mitigation strategies as needed.
- Financial Analysis: Analyse the financial feasibility and profitability of proposed strategies and propositions. Create financial models and forecasts to support decision-making.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all strategies and propositions comply with relevant insurance regulations and standards. Work closely with legal and compliance teams to navigate regulatory requirements.
- Success Measurement: Define key success metrics to measure the impact of implemented strategies and propositions. Continuously monitor and evaluate performance against these metrics, adjusting as necessary.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate the company’ strategic direction and proposition to internal stakeholders, including executives and employees, to gain alignment and support for initiatives.
