About the role
We are seeking disability and Mental health Support Workers with good experience to join our team. We have Support Worker roles available in the following areas:
- Perth Metro Areas
As a member of our support team, your role would involve assisting individuals with their daily living skills, organizing and participating in social and recreational activities, monitoring and implementing healthy lifestyle practices, and empowering participants to achieve their goals. This position entails working with individuals with a range of needs, including those with complex behaviors and medication requirements. We are looking for candidates with experience and professionalism, who can navigate these varying needs with skill and compassion.
Additional Duties for this role include but are not limited to the following:
- Personal Care.
- Working with participants with complex behaviors.
- General Domestic Duties.
- Transportation.
- Social and Community Participation.
Your Key Responsibilities Include:
- Build rapport and collaborate effectively with staff/management, participants, their family, and friends to achieve a positive outcome and ensure a smooth service delivery flow throughout the participants' plan.
- Assist with liaising with participants' families and friends to explore new goals, and ambitions, promote and empower participants to achieve their goals and provide a medium of solid communication.
- Increase participants' skills with your active support and promote independence by enhancing their skills and personal development.
- Provide quality and professional support per participants' plans, needs, and wants.
- Assisting participants with accessing their social community to engage with their friends and social groups to promote a healthier lifestyle.
- Implement strategies and programs to develop/enhance participant skills and identify areas of increased support and opportunities for services to help achieve their goals.
- Shifts that are available range from Monday through to Sunday. Timings of shifts may vary. Shifts may range from a minimum of 2 hours to 8 hours.
Qualifications
- Current First Aid certificate
- Current CPR training
- Current full Driver’s License
- Certificate IV in Mental Health or Certificate III in Disability
- NDIS Screening Check
- Working With Children Check
- Assist clients with Medication certificates.
- Current Manual Handling Certificate
- Experience working with clients with autism and challenging behaviors.
