Overview

We invite you to join our supportive and dynamic Mental Health Team at Yorke and Northern Local Health Network, working with adults in our regional hospitals and communities as a Mental Health Clinician - Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker.

Our Mental Health Clinicians pride themselves on being nonjudgmental, understanding privilege and power and engaging in anti-oppressive practice which incorporates cultural sensitivity.

Our work is solution (goal) focused, striving to build the capacity of adult clients with the aim of self-empowerment and increased autonomy while respecting individual values.

As a Mental Health Clinician at YNLHN, you will get to work with a clinically diverse caseload across the adult life span. Please note, this role does not provide services to children.

Eligibility

Occupational Therapist applicants must hold a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification and as a regulated profession be eligible for registration as an occupational therapist within Australia.

Social Worker applicants must hold a recognised qualification within the Social Work profession and be eligible for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Must have participated on ongoing professional development in line with AASW guidelines. Must be able to demonstrate AHP2 level competencies for appointment at this level. 

Psychologist applicants must hold general registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. This normally requires at least an Honours Degree in Psychology and subsequent completion of 2 years of Board approved supervision and training as a Provisional Psychologist, either by completion of an approved Psychology postgraduate degree or in a Board approved psychology internship, or an equivalent qualification as determined by the Psychology Board of Australia. Clinical endorsement with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or eligible and willing to participate in AHPRA Clinical Psychology Registrar Program is desirable.

Port Pirie has the largest case-mix funded health service in the YNLHN and provides outreach to 8 regional sites including Port Broughton, Crystal Brook, Gladstone, Jamestown, Laura, Booleroo, Orroroo and Peterborough (max 1.5hrs drive from Pirie).
