Mental Health Clinican Allied Gr2 - RPN3 Group Based Parenting support Program

The Mental Health Clinician will be a valued member of the Infant Child Youth Mental Health Service - Group Based Parenting Support Program and will be required to work in a new program that will provide a flexible range of parenting programs in the local communities, parent-focused interventions and strategies exist that are appropriate for group delivery for parents/care givers for (0-11) age groups. The Mental Health Clinician will work closely with Practice Lead and be part of facilitating group-based Support Program tailored to meet the needs of participating parents, families,carers and supporters, The Group Based Parenting Support Program will be facilitated using a trauma informed child developmental framework. We are actively seeking candidates who meet the following requirements to apply for this exceptional opportunity.

  • Unencumbered registration with APHRA for Nursing, Occupational Therapist, Endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist Registrar or eligibility and willingness to enter into a PBA Registrar Program. Eligibility for membership with AASW for Social Work.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a health professional which is part of a multidisciplinary team within Infant Child Youth Mental Health Service.
  • Demonstrated experience in running groups with parents/adults.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding in the delivery of behavior change theories and practices in evidence-based treatment programs for parents/adult.
  • Effective planning, flexibility, problem solving and prioritising skills
  • Ability to work within structures of supervision and clinical accountability
  • Ability to be part of creating a team culture and performance that is based on hope, optimism and an understanding of trauma informed workplace behaviors.

Employment Type: This is a fulltime or part time fix term opportunity until June 2026.

About Mental Health Services at Albury Wodonga Health (AWH)

Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) is established in the twin cities of Albury and Wodonga, between Sydney and Melbourne. Our dedicated team of nearly 3,000 staff supports a population of 250,000 people throughout North-East Victoria and Southern NSW. Our extensive network encompasses two primary hospital campuses, and an additional 22 sites, delivering a diverse range of emergency, community, Mental Health, allied health and sub-acute services.

AWH is an Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service, providing Mental Health treatment, care and support, including delivering Alcohol and Other Drugs services. We deliver 10 specialised community-based programs, along with three acute care services and three facilities dedicated to recovery and rehabilitation. We also provide services supporting families coping with parental mental illness and facilitating connections to carer consultants.

Our Mental Health and Wellbeing teams comprise Mental Health Clinicians with a background in nursing, occupational therapy, social work and psychology, all of whom have experience in helping people through a range of therapies. The diversity of our service provides a range of experiences for our team and will assist you in expanding and embedding your clinical practice skills.
