A bit about the role:? You will provide Mental Health nursing services as part of our Street Based Outreach Team at The Living Room on Melbourne’s iconic Hosier Lane. It is a unique service combining health services, drop-in support, and social connectedness. The Mental Health Nurse will form part of a multi-disciplinary outreach team providing high-quality, compassionate, person-centred care and work in collaboration with clients and the multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and outcomes. The position will be critical to providing a health-focused outreach response that engages consumers in order to create linkages with our Living Room Primary Health Service and a range of external health, outreach and housing services. Working within a social model of health, the position will form part of a multidisciplinary team approach to provide direct interventions and conduct referrals across a range of domains. The position will be required to work in an assertive outreach capacity in the evening. This program operates Wednesday – Sunday between 4pm and 11pm. You are a compassionate and outcomes-driven nurse with either Mental Health experience or wanting to start your career in Mental Health. You have a passion for working with disadvantaged and marginalised populations experiencing psychiatric, medical and substance use conditions. You understand the importance of empowering service users to engage positively in their physical and Mental Health. You’re passionate about strength-based therapeutic interventions. You will be excited about this role and come knocking on our door with your AHPRA registration in hand. You’re bendy, and you know not every day will be the same; you can switch from providing support to a service user to writing entering impact data in the blink of an eye. Changing lives is your passion but you still embrace rolling up your sleeves and mucking in to get the job done.
