Your main duties
As the Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Programs Manager by managing and leading various aspects of the Social and Emotional Mental Health program team. Your responsibilities may include:
- Assessing and treating individuals with mental, emotional, or substance abuse problems, including alcohol and/or other drugs.
- Conducting individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, case management, client advocacy, prevention, and education activities.
- Monitoring, evaluating, and recording client progress towards treatment goals.
- Triage new referrals, review records, conduct comprehensive assessments, and confer with other professionals to evaluate clients' mental or physical conditions.
- Counseling or assisting family members in understanding, dealing with, or supporting the client or patient.
- Referring patients, clients, or families to community resources for housing or treatment to aid in recovery from mental or physical illness and ensuring service efficacy.
- Modifying treatment plans according to changes in client status.
- Collaborating with psychologists, psychiatrists, counselors, physicians, or nurses to plan or coordinate treatment.
- Current registration with AHPRA, with no restrictions
- Post graduate qualifications in Mental Health (or extensive demonstrated experience in the field)
- National Crime Check and WWCC
- Experience working within Aboriginal consumers, communities, and providers
- Experience in Microsoft Office software packages including word, excel and outlook
