Casual Mental Health Support Worker: HASI+

Autonomous working environment with team support | Employee Assistance Program | Supportive management | Inclusive and collaborative culture

About the role: The Housing and Accommodation Support Initiative (HASI) Plus supports people with severe Mental Health conditions to live and participate in the community in the way that they want to. We assist up to 10 participants to live in their own self-contained accommodation located on one site. In this role, you will be supporting them to maintain their tenancy and providing safe and effective, recovery-oriented and trauma informed Mental Health Support

Hours and location: The hours are casual. You will be working shifts that support a 24 hour model so flexible availability to work nights and weekends is essential. Staff in the program work both in the community and at the site in Kempsey. To ensure consistency of service for our participants, we are looking for people who have availability to work a minimum of least 3 shifts a week. There is potential to transition to part time hours. 

Qualifications and checks

  1. Certificate IV in Community Services or Mental Health or higher tertiary qualifications.
  2. A current Driver's Licence: a satisfactory current Criminal Record Check, Working with Children Check, current COVID vaccination and First Aid Certificate 

Professional skills and experience

  1. Demonstrated understanding of the recovery model and psychosocial rehabilitation and experience in coordinating care for persons with complex support needs co-occurring with significant Mental Health conditions
  2. Computer literate with capacity to support others to access technology, use apps and input data to our CRM
  3. Established networks and relationships with a range of services in the local area
  4. Availability to work a variety of shifts including active nights, sleepovers and weekends

This role is remunerated at SCHCDS Level 3 ($36ph) plus allowances and penalties.
