An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join the Mental Health Division at Northern Health (NH) in the role of Undergraduate Nurse Coordinator.
The Role:
The Undergraduate Nurse Coordinator position will be based within the Northern Health Mental Health Nursing Workforce and Professional Development Unit.
The role will be responsible for coordinating the undergraduate nursing program for the Mental Health Division at Northern Health (NH), working with key stakeholders across Northern Health, the NH Mental Health Division’s clinical services as well university partners to support and further develop the expanding undergraduate nurse program.
The UNC will demonstrate understanding of contemporary Mental Health nursing curriculum as well as Mental Health nursing practice skills. The role will include supporting the induction and orientation of nursing students, supporting a sustainable Preceptorship Model and creating a culture of learning and practice development.
About you:
- A Registered Psychiatric Nurse with experience across a variety of Mental Health settings
- Experience in leadership roles
- Experience in and well-developed understanding of preceptorship, supervision, evidence for practice, adult learning principles and competency assessments.
- Ability to work autonomously, prioritise and use initiative
