CatholicCare Victoria is committed to building thriving communities through disrupting the cycle of disadvantage. Our Family Wellbeing Support Service (FMHSS) provides early intervention and non-clinical Mental Health support for children and young people, who are at risk of developing mental illness.
The Practitioner’s role is to provide long term, early intervention and non-clinical Mental Health support, community outreach, Mental Health education, therapeutic group based programs and community development activities for children and young people, aged up to 18 years, who are showing signs of, or are at risk of, developing mental illness.
Specifically, the position is responsible for:
Service delivery with case management and assessments using principles and practice, working with children, young people, families and cares in accordance with legislation, program guidelines and practice instructions.
Co-facilitation of individual and group psychoeducational programs as identified and within current research-based industry accredited frameworks.
Provision of community outreach, Mental Health education and community development activities to promote Mental Health and wellbeing for children and young people while developing, maintaining and strengthening existing and new linkages with a range of service providers and stakeholders.
To be considered for this position, applicants require:
Relevant experience or associate diploma with substantial experience, or qualifications in more than one discipline relevant to the role. Extensive experience within Mental Health and wellbeing, with a focus on working with children and young people in an early intervention context.
Demonstrated experience in case load allocation and management including experience and understanding of risk and needs assessment frameworks.
Demonstrated experience in the facilitation of pyscho-educational group work for children and adults and peer social activities, within current research-based industry accredited frameworks.
