Position Summary
Reporting to the General Manager – Merchandise (Jewellery & Accessories) and ultimately the COO, the Merchandiser role is responsible for the effective management of range assortment, stock levels and adequate stock level allocation and distribution to achieve monthly budgets. The role is also responsible for reviewing and implementing efficient inventory management systems and processes along with supporting Boutique queries. Regular store visits will also assist the retail teams with visual merchandising initiatives and store design along with ensuring that product knowledge resources are made available as required. The Merchandiser is a Kennedy Brand ambassador and has a dynamic understanding of the luxury market, brand buying and building relationships.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Assist with the achievement of sales and profit objectives through the effective management of range assortment, inventory and stock levels across the retail network.
- Ensure adequate stock level distribution and availability to help achieve monthly budgets within jewellery and accessories.
- Support Finance with sales forecasting activities.
- Manage the range and in-stock of automatic replenishment program and core volume lines.
- Oversee weekly deliveries and forward intake reconciliations.
- With buy in and support from the management team, review and implement inventory management systems and processes with an eye for continuous imrpovement.
- Manage weekly, monthly, quarterly and seasonal reporting.
- Establish strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct regular store visits and assist with visual merchandising activiites, ensuring displays are in line with brand stantards.
- Prepare and attend quarterly brand partner reviews, provide insight on trends and client preferences within the brand portfolio.
- Work collaboratively with the trade marketing and brand activation/events team to ensure campaigns are supported with sufficient inventory, brand collaterals and resources.
- Support retail teams’ product knowledge ensuring the availability of training and VM standards resources.
- Coach and support the Merchandise Coordinator.
- Undertale any other relevant merchandising and merchandise planning activities as required.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Merchandising, Marketing or Business.
- At least 3 years’ experience in retail merchandising; luxury retail experience an advantage.
- Strong computer literacy skills within a Microsoft Office environment.
- Understand the purpose of commercial negotiations and commercial agreements.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong relationship building and communication skills across various channels, with a collaborative mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills.
