We are seeking a Metal Fabrication Apprentice to join our client's fast paced, 40 year old family business specialising in supporting national and global manufacturing companies across New South Wales. As a Metal Fabricator you will specialise in cutting, shaping and assembling metal parts or structures from raw materials using the latest technology and various techniques including welding, bending and machining. You will create products ranging from simple components to complex machinery and structures using a variety of metals including steel, aluminium and copper.
As a Metal Fabrication Apprentice (1st, 2nd or 3rd year) you will be expected to:
- Be motivated to pursue a career as a Metal Fabricator
- Learn on the job, and attend TAFE for the duration of the Apprenticeship
- Be a customer focused, reliable and passionate team member
- Complete a four year apprenticeship
The successful applicant will have:
- A keen interest in fabrication and manufacturing processes
- Completed Secondary School to Year 10 level (or equivalent) minimum
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- A Drivers Licence (Provisional minimum)
Your Metal Fabrication apprenticeship will provide hands-on training and experience in various aspects of metalworking including:
- Metal cutting and shaping
- Welding and joining
- Metal forming
- Blueprint reading
- Quality control
- Safety protocols
- Material handling and storage
- Tool and equipment maintenance
- Problem solving and diagnostic skills
