Accountabilities
- Development and execution of mandatory and non-mandatory training activities
- Ensure that all personnel are fit for work and ready to perform duties in a safe and productive manner.
- Comply with required statutory Acts, Standards, Mine Regulations, Environmental Standards, and any other relevant documents.
- Promote and maintain the site safety standards and procedures including Gcom, Toolbox Talks and Safety Alerts, to continuously improve safety culture within the MRM Metallurgy department.
- Recognise and reward safe behaviour.
- Encourage operators to take regular fatigue breaks and Stop Work where the task is unsafe.
- Conduct and document scheduled mandatory inspections and observations of all MRM Operations activities within their scope.
- Ensure training compliance of MRM Production personnel.
- Ensure operators understand and follow the Glencore SafeWork Practices (Fatal Hazard Protocols and Life Saving Behaviours).
- Comply with Glencore MRM Sustainable Development Policies and Procedures
- Complete and demonstrate supervisors’ expectations as per the training package.
- Comply with standard procedures, JSA’s or SWI’s and participate in, or conduct, Risk Assessments when required.
- Identify potential improvements to work practices and conditions.
- Complete required shift reports and distributed to relevant stakeholders daily, in a clear and timely manner.
- Ensure all equipment is used and maintained correctly with any defects reported by work order.
- Ensure Incidents are entered into BSAFE within 24 hours and investigations completed.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Support in Training MRM Production department to ensure safe operations within MRM footprint underpinned by the Glencore SafeWork Practices - Fatal Hazard Protocols and Life Saving Behaviours.
- Conducting operational inspections of the Ore Preparation, Concentrator, Concentrate Haulage and Bagging, TSF and Water Management on a regular basis to ensure safe operations and compliance with company standards and procedures.
- Developing a high-performance culture within the MRM Production department.
- Developing MRM operations personnel by way of providing training and coaching on effective behaviour, procedures, and operational strategies.
- Optimisation of assigned resources and continuous improvement to minimise cost and waste.
- Developing and providing input into procedures, training packages and standard work instructions to maintain document currency.
- Developing a positive team culture in line with Glencore values including mentoring and coaching to build employee role competency.
- Monitoring and ensuring regulatory compliance of MRM Production crews, for competencies including health and safety, training, and environmental management.
- Demonstrated understanding of Metallurgy Ore Preparation, Concentrator, Concentrate Haulage and Bagging, TSF and Water Management
- Demonstrated knowledge of risk management, safety systems and legislative requirements
- Experience supervising and developing personal to deliver business outcomes.
- Basic level Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel)
- Knowledge and experience with Ellipse program
- Certificate iv in training and assessment (Desirable)
